How in the world am I going to make it through this? I’m sure you’ve gone through a personal storm and had to ask yourself this question. Don’t sit back and cry about spilled milk, clean it up! You have to focus on the light at the end of the tunnel and keep the faith. Here are three tips that will help you keep the faith as you journey across troubled waters.

Check the Mirror

Be comfortable in your own skin and love yourself. Stop focusing on the external world and look inside yourself for answers and faith. Focus on all the wonderful gifts, qualities, and skillsets that God has blessed you with and know that you will be alright! Stop looking for validation from the world and check the mirror because the world can be a cruel place at times.

Manage Your Expectations

Keep it real with yourself and stop playing games with your future! Start working on your belief system by scrapping the negative beliefs that you inherited from family or friends. How can you expect to have positive outcomes in life when you’re always beating yourself up and focusing on the bad stuff? Negative-in equals negative-out, so please do yourself a favor and be truthful about your personal expectations.

It’s Only Temporary

Unfortunately, nothing good lasts forever and by the same token, nothing bad does either. This thought alone should allow you to activate faith when things don’t go your way. This is why self-discipline is so important because it allows us to create better habits and skill sets that provide cushion for the chaos.

Don’t wait until things go wrong before you start working on faith. I recommend loving yourself to the max and strengthen your faith on a daily basis. Always remember, those that “stay ready” never have to “get ready” because things always get worse before they get better, but you will be just fine because you have faith!
