What’s the word family? I see we survived that brutal “snowstorm”  from earlier this week, but now that the weekend is here, it’s time to shake the frost and flurries away! There’s lots of events guaranteed to get your blood flowing in this cold weather and I think you’ll dig what I have in store for you! This evening, head over to the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art for another installment of the museum’s Modernism + Film Series. Tonight’s feature is the documentary, “Frei Otto – Spanning the Future.” This film takes a look at the incredible life and work of Frei Otto. As an architect and engineer he laid the foundation for contemporary lightweight architecture, and his ideas are still awe inspiring decades after he revealed them. This fact was cemented when he was named the 2015 Laureate of the Pritzker Architecture Prize. Back in September 2017, Vernisha Crawford, Miss Black Charlotte 2017 and an amazing team of volunteers hosted the very first Miss All Natural Pageant. There were 7 young ladies who went through 12 weeks of training and preparation to present to the world their best selves by showcasing their skills, talents, and knowledge. This afternoon, you’re invited out for a special free viewing of the “Miss All Natural Pageant Documentary: An All Natural Journey.” These lovely ladies graced the stage with no make-up, no weave or hair extensions, no artificial nails, no eye lash extensions, or body shapers. It was a moment in history we will never forget.
