Dear Readers,
As we step into 2026, I am filled with gratitude and excitement for the journey Pride Magazine continues to embark on as a vital voice in Charlotte and beyond. Since our founding, Pride Magazine has been dedicated to uplifting and celebrating the stories, achievements, and contributions of the African American community. From our debut in 2003 of the beloved “Living with Pride” edition, highlighting the vibrant homes and lifestyles of upscale African Americans, to the launch of the “Charlotte Multicultural Resource Guide” in 2009, our commitment to Charlotte communities has never wavered.
Our mission has always been clear: to reflect the beauty and depth of our communities, champion inclusivity, and build bridges that connect us all. Through the years, our efforts have extended beyond storytelling. Whether it’s awarding over $100,000 in scholarships to local students through our Pride Entrepreneur Education Program (PEEP) or fostering connections through events like the Sunset Jazz Festival, we have remained deeply invested in the well-being and progress of Charlotte.
One of the most cherished ways we contribute is through our annual Pride Awards. This event is more than just a celebration; it is a platform to honor outstanding individuals and organizations making a difference in our city. In February 2026, the Pride Awards will once again bring together people from all walks of life to recognize excellence and promote unity.
This year’s luncheon will feature three highly anticipated honors:
The Pride Outstanding Nonprofit Award, accompanied by a meaningful monetary contribution to further their impact.
The Pride Neighborhood Excellence Award, highlighting efforts to create thriving, connected communities.
The Pride Distinguished CSR Award, celebrating businesses dedicated to responsible corporate practices that benefit our city.
I invite you to stay engaged with us as we reveal more about this year’s Pride Awards and the ways you can participate in this remarkable celebration of achievement and community spirit. Thank you for your ongoing support, and here’s to another year of sharing stories that matter and making a difference together.
With Pride,
Dee Dixon
