Significant opportunities for local artists 

from storytellers to musicians to visual artists and more

In 2023, Blumenthal Arts paid $505,000 to local CIAF artists 

(March 1, 2024) Charlotte, NC – The third annual Charlotte International Arts Festival (CIAF), a Blumenthal Arts Original, will return to Charlotte September 13–29, 2024. The annual spree of creativity and imagination brings renowned artists from all over the world to Charlotte. It is also a celebration of the vibrant international cultures and wonderful talent represented right here in our community. Blumenthal is excited to announce that CIAF 2024 applications are now open for local artists. More information and application links can be found at https://www.charlotteartsfest.com/get-involved/artist-applications.

“Highlighting the immense and diverse talent that exists locally in Charlotte and the region is paramount to the mission of the Charlotte International Arts Festival,” said Alana Graber, Festival and Special Events Producer at Blumenthal Arts. “In 2023, we were thrilled to present 57 local performers and groups alongside international touring artists. We can’t wait to see the proposals and collaborative ideas that come in for 2024.”

BLUMENTHAL FELLOWS 

Does your work inspire JOY? COLLABORATION? PROVOCATIVE THOUGHT? AWE? INNOVATION? CREATIVE PLACEMAKING?

For the third year, Blumenthal Arts is seeking a new class of Fellows who will represent the best in festival projects that Charlotte artists have to offer. This work will be presented alongside the national and international acts and projects that are brought in during CIAF to be visited by thousands of festival attendees. 

Nine grants in total will be awarded in the amounts of $15,000, $10,000, or $5,000. 

Blumenthal Fellows Application

CULTURAL STAGES 

Cultural Stages grants will be awarded to performing artists (bands, dancers, magicians, storytellers, etc.) to present work that is representative of their culture. 

Each selected artist or group will receive a stipend of up to $1,000 for a full-length main stage performance or up to $250 for a biergarten stage or pop-up performance.
