Dilworth Tasting Room Debuts New Fall Menu

By Lashawnda Becoats

One of my favorite pastimes is eating. I enjoy exploring the queen city not only for the best cuisine but places that also have an inviting atmosphere.

Recently I the opportunity to enjoy the new fall menu from Dilworth Tasting Room, the premiere spot in Southend to enjoy delicious cuisine and exclusive wines.

Before I get to the food, let me say that the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The large space has couches to sit on for a cozy date or conversations with friends, a full bar and an area with a formal table that can seat large parties. Although it’s chilly outside now, the outdoor patio area is the perfect place to sip wine and chill away from home. I can’t wait for spring.

Now for the food. DTR specializes in small plates that offer a variety of flavorful options. The portions are perfect to share or eat as an entree.

Here’s are few of the tasty dishes I enjoyed.

If you love meat and cheese this charcuterie is one of the best I’ve had in long time. It is served with fresh baguettes, walnuts, almonds, pecans, grapes, tomatoes and fig jam.Yummy!
The braised fingerling potatoes, asparagus, carrots, with mushroom glaze was nicely sized Horseradish Encrusted Beef was tender with just the right amount of delicious gravy.
I enjoyed the mouthwatering scallops served with black risotto cake, roasted kale and corn veloutee.
The Mille-Feuille made with Bavarian cream, spun sugar with blackberry purée was my favorite. I’m still daydreaming about this smooth and creamy dessert. Unfortunately, it’s not a permanent item on the menu but it was the best treat I’ve had in a long time.
