Krustaceans Seafood – Eating with Panther Pride

Ok, I’d heard of this place before but was today years old finding out how good it is! When you get a craving for fried fish, like I often do as a good Southern girl, here’s your go-to spot. It’s located in an unassuming space in a strip mall off Yorkmont Road, but don’t let that deter you. We all know some of the best food is found in “hole in the walls”. We opted for Cajun fries, the fish, shrimp, and crab legs which come with a choice of many butter sauces but, trust me, just go with the Kaboom sauce which is a mixture of all of them. Everything was wonderfully seasoned and cooked to order so it arrived piping hot, which I appreciate because I HATE lukewarm food. The batter on the fish and shrimp was light and crispy. Not at all greasy. And they have yellow mustard, y’all! Which we all know is THE condiment you need with this kind of low country cooking (along with “light” bread and a soda if you wanna go way back

🤣

but I don’t consume those things so

🤷🏽‍♀️

Also, it’s AA-owned (by former Panthers player Marcus Lucas), and the service is awesome!
Now, the crab legs will be a mess to eat, but you already knew that. Kaboom sauce all over the place! But worth it. Just tuck a paper towel into your shirt like I did and get after it.  And those Cajun fries–OMG! Not only did they have the spice element you’d expect, but there was also a sprinkling of something herb-y going on. YUM!  The service is charming & awesome! Also, they were playing old-school soul music. LOVE. THAT. Go in, order at the counter, and have a seat. You’ll be glad you did.
