Bold Florals Make A Splash in Furniture Trends

Recently, I had the opportunity to spend four days at what I affectionately call designer Disneyland, also known as High Point Market.  The High Point Market is the largest furnishings industry trade show in the world, bringing more than 75,000 people to High Point every six months.  It is THE place to find the latest and greatest in home furnishings and décor.

This year’s spring show did not disappoint and was packed with beautiful showrooms and products to get the creative juices going.  There were so many new design trends on display that I thought I’d share a few with you. For starters, it was pretty evident that l neutral color schemes are totally “in”.

Not sure if they’re ever out, but there seemed to be a lean toward the more subdue this year.

Lucite has been gaining popularity for the past couple of years and was on full display at this spring’s market. This blast from the past, see-through element brings a modern feel to even the most classic furnishings

Lucite can also be found in a variety of accessories and as fashionable hardware on case goods.

Likely my favorite trend at market were the bold florals donned by luxurious and comfy upholstered pieces.

Bright floral upholstered furniture pieces are a great way to infuse life into any space. If floral furniture is a bit too much of a commitment, try adding a punch in the way of pillows. While not as bold of a statement, a fun floral can add life to a neutral furniture pieces.

High Point market provides a glimpse into what we can expect to see in the near future in home design, so consider this your peek under the design tent.

Until next time…
