Tonight, join host The People’s Voice for an interactive panel discussion about the state of welfare in regards to Charlotte Black male youth voiced by some of Charlotte’s dignitaries. Panelists include Charlotte City Councilman Braxton Winston, community activist Brandi Williams, Civil Rights Icon and Attorney James Ferguson, II, CMPD Deputy Chief Johnny L. Jennings and Power98 FM personality Janine Davis. The discussion will be moderated by WBTV reporter Dedrick Russell and Spectrum News reporter Kirstin Garris. Admission is FREE to attend. This beautiful Lake Walk art festival features the work of talented local artisans and craftsmen featuring their jewelry, paintings, woodwork, pottery, glasswork, and lots more! This afternoon, join Charlotte Mecklenburg Library as they host the second installment of their brand new interactive cinematic platform entitled “The Vulnerable Black Man Film Series.” In today’s society, the Black man has been pitted against our own livelihood leaving us devoid of necessary expression of our emotions. Today, join the beautiful Angel Truesdale as she hosts a screening of the Academy Award-winning film “42.” In 1946, Branch Rickey (Harrison Ford), legendary manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers, defies major league baseball’s notorious color barrier by signing Jackie Robinson (Chadwick Boseman) to the team.
